This event will test your physical and mental capacities for 12 hrs.
Are you ready?
Saturday TBD, 2012 (Next event date pending)
Start: Saturday morning (Friday Night) at 0001hrs (midnight)
End: Saturday at 12noon
The Trek:
A 1.5+mile course with rugged uphill climbs, steep descents, a pond crossing, and a near vertical rope climb (after slogging through a creek bed) on every lap. This course is designed to quickly distance itself from other events that claim to push you to your limits.
This is an your face, dirty, wet, sweaty, strength & stamina required event. The course boasts over 1,700ft of elevation rise and fall per lap.
3 person Teams and Individual Categories:
Participants will run the event in a three person team relay (1 runner on the course at any given time) or as an individual.
Scoring / Determining a Winner:
Participants will depart the official scoring area to begin their lap. Upon completion they will enter the official scoring area and check in. Teams shall decide whether to send the same person on another lap, or change members. This will be recorded and off they go. Individual participants can choose to do another lap or rest. If they rest, they will check in and then out from the scoring area. The team and individual with the most laps completed in 12 hours will be crowned champion! The last lap departure time limitation is 11:30am.
Equipment Required:
For the night portion of the event, participants MUST depart the official scoring area with a functioning (suggest it’s waterproof) portable light (flashlight, headlamp, etc). You will not be allowed to begin the lap without a functioning light. Backup lights are recommended. Plan for the lighting requirement of up to 45mins per lap. Hands free lighting is recommended for the rope climb, but not mandatory. Retrofitted cycling lighting works well for night trails.
Bonus!
Our friends and sponsors “Bikes n Beers” are bringing along some of their signature brewery concoctions for Saturday afternoon following the event. You won’t want to miss this. Hell, just this makes the punishment worth it! LOL
Camping / Facilities / Food:
This is a long event, and participants are encouraged to throw a tent down if they choose. Camping is allowed Friday after 3pm and out-you-go by Sunday noon. Porta johns will be on site. Non-potable water will be available for general washing and rinsing. Hot and cold concessions will be available.
Fees:
$70 per person. This includes an event T-shirt and a mug along with a nice 12 hour+ bonfire in the main event area. Late entry fee goes to $80 on TBD, and walk ups will pay $100 on race day. T-shirts guaranteed to pre-paid participants only – not late registrants or same day walk-ups.
